 Puppy Vaccines

 
  • Complete physical exam
  • DHPLPC combination vaccinations every 3 to 4 weeks from 6 weeks to 14 weeks of age (DHPLPC = distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, leptospirosis, parvovirus, coronavirus)
  • Rabies vaccine given at 12 to 14 weeks of age
  • Bordetella vaccine (kennel cough vaccine) given at 12 and 14 weeks of age
  • Lyme vaccine given after 12 weeks of age, followed by a booster in 3 weeks
  • Fecal 
  • Deworming per CDC recommended guidelines
  • Begin heartworm preventative for puppies under 6 months of age. For puppies older than 6 months that have not been on preventative: they must have a blood test for heartworm before beginning the preventative.
  • Spay or neuter at 4 months of age
  • Begin home dental care
